Leak in Apartment Bathroom

Does your apartment show signs of a leak?

A leak that shows in a highrise foyer on any level above ground could be coming from any direction! Leak detection can be tricky at times when it comes to tracking the source, but in this case our thermal imaging camera apartment water leak picked it up clearly.

When leaks appear down around the skirting board, they can actually be coming from above or to the side… and in some cases down below! The thermal imaging camera in this photo shows the leak clearly coming from up the wall and beyond.

After venturing upstairs and into the apartment directly above, we managed to detect the leak was coming from a bathtub. The gib board that backed onto the bath was visible from the foyer area. Although the gib looked fine, it was full of water behind it, but it just hadn’t showed visually. The infrared camera picked it up clearly and enabled the plumber to accurately locate the leak and fix it with minimal damage.
